Top Surgery Follow Up

So like I said in my last post, I had my follow up with Dr. Leis. He’s also not at all pleased with the amount of loose skin. He attributes it to my weight loss. At my heaviest, I was 265lbs and I’m down to 205lbs. I’m also down to about 15% body fat, but as most former fat kids will tell you: that kind of fat loss comes with damage to the skin’s elasticity. He had anticipated the skin bouncing back a little better than it did, so i’m left with a fair bit of loose skin and a general lack of definition.

So I’m scheduled for revision November 12th. He’s going to go in and remove the excess skin much in way that he would have removed the breasts originally if he had done the double incision the first go round, so it’ll change the look of my scars completely.

On the left side, the incision will wrap around under my left arm a little more than is standard to flatten the silhouette more (excess skin… Bluh). He’s promised no drains this time.

Knowing what I do now about the recovery, I’m off the days after, but I’ll be going back to my desk job the Monday after. I truthfully feel like I’m more likely to keep my arms still there than I am at home. And besides, last time I went full stir crazy.

A couple highlights from recent past… Ran a 5K in Richmond…

Met Aydian at Philly Trans

Took hold in Special Olympics.

I’ll have more thoughts on my time at Philly trans soon. Until then, much love,
